Eric's Home Services is co-owned by Eric and Brad — both born and raised in the area, both raising families here, and both with deep HVAC backgrounds. We started this business out of a single truck in Mabank with a simple commitment: do the work right the first time, treat people the way we'd want our own families treated, and stay rooted in the community we live in. We answer our own phones, write our own quotes, and operate as a single locally-owned shop. We're not a franchise. We've never been acquired. We never will be.
Why "Always Privately Owned" Matters
Over the last decade, the residential HVAC industry across DFW has been quietly consolidated. Most of the truck names you see — even the ones that look local — are owned by nationwide private equity roll-ups headquartered in other states. Those companies operate on a specific playbook:
- Set aggressive monthly sales quotas the tech has to hit or lose their job
- Train techs to "find" the most expensive solution on every call
- Push extended warranties and "club memberships" on every visit
- Outsource phone support to call centers in other states
- Use "time and materials" billing so the price keeps climbing once work begins
We do things differently. Our technicians earn performance pay — pay tied to completing jobs well, not pushing the most expensive option. That's how good techs make a living in this trade. But our system is structured to keep everyone honest:
- Flat-rate, written pricing. Every repair is quoted in writing before any work begins. The tech doesn't make more by inventing extra problems — the price is locked in once you sign off.
- One flat $79 diagnostic. Same fee regardless of what we find. No incentive to "find" expensive failures that aren't there.
- Internal job review. The owners review the work and the quote on every job. Patterns get caught.
- No quotas, no scripts. Our techs aren't pressured to upsell on every visit to keep their job.
The result: you get a fair price you can comparison-shop, the tech earns fair performance pay for honest work done well, and nobody's incentive is broken.
Meet the Owners
Eric is a U.S. Army veteran — Airborne Infantry, two combat tours in Afghanistan — with over 20 years in the HVAC industry. He's worked every position inside an AC company — install helper, service tech, lead technician, service manager — and is now the business owner. That path matters: when you've done the work yourself for two decades, you know exactly what corner-cutting looks like, and you don't tolerate it from your team. The discipline, the commitment to checklists and process, the obsession with doing the right thing even when no one's watching — those came from the Army and from two decades of running service calls.
Brad began his career in the HVAC trade in 2019, working part-time before committing to the field full-time and pursuing formal training in 2020. Since then, he has gained deep, hands-on experience with several of the area's largest HVAC companies, where he spent years running service calls, troubleshooting complex systems, and refining his craft across a wide range of residential and commercial projects.
Brad holds multiple certifications in indoor air quality, HVAC systems, and airflow design — credentials that reflect his commitment to delivering not just comfort, but healthier, better-engineered living and working environments for every customer he serves.
A devoted husband and father of four, Brad's Christian faith is the foundation of everything he does. It shapes how he treats customers, how he leads on the job, and how he makes decisions both at home and in business. For Brad, doing the work right and doing right by people are inseparable.
Together that's 27+ years of combined HVAC industry experience — and a partnership rooted in shared values.
Local, Family-Rooted, Faith-Driven
We didn't start this business to chase volume or hit some private equity exit. We started it because we live here. Our kids go to school here. We support local sports, local schools, and the local churches our families attend.
Our faith is a big part of how we run this business. It shapes how we treat customers, how we treat employees, and how we make decisions when no one's watching. That sounds simple, but it's increasingly rare in our industry. Most of the truck names you see across DFW today are owned by national private equity roll-ups headquartered in other states. Their goal is volume. Ours is to be the company our neighbors trust enough to call back.
Our Service Area
We cover Cedar Creek Lake Area (our home turf), East Texas, and the entire DFW metroplex. Full city list here.
What to Expect From Us
- Real human on the phone. Not a call center. Not a robot. A person who can answer your questions or get you on the schedule.
- Pre-arrival text. The tech's name, photo, and ETA window — so you know exactly who's coming to your door.
- Honest diagnostic. If we don't know yet, we'll say so and check. We won't make up a story to look smart.
- Upfront flat-rate quote. Signed off before any work begins. No "while I'm here" add-ons.
- Clean truck, clean uniform, clean job. We pick up after ourselves. Your home looks better when we leave than when we arrived.
- Done right the first time. 1-year labor warranty on every repair, no questions.
Try us once.
If we're not visibly better than what you've used before, we don't deserve a second call. Most of our customers call us for everything from that point forward.
